NEWS

  • Manila World Congress 1998� The greatest news for JC Bulgaria is that we have received our full affiliation. In the last two years Junior Chamber Bulgaria has developed by creating new LOMs and recruiting new members. We received two awards: 100% Efficiency Award and Greatest Net Increase of Individual Members in a NOM. We announced our bid to host the 2000 JCiE Meeting in Sofia, Bulgaria.

  • First JC Bulgaria Senator � At our traditional Christmas Cocktail, Mr. Konstantin Konstantinov was presented with the highest honor in Junior Chamber � Senator �59241. Being one of the founders of JC Bulgaria and our main sponsor, he still remains our good friend and adviser. We believe that he will continue his active support for the JC Movement.


  • Sofia will host the 2000 JCiE Meting � At the JCiE Meeting in Cyprus Bulgaria was approved to host the next JCiE Meeting in the year 2000. It will be held in Sofia from 17th till 20th February in the �Castle Hotel Hrankov�. It will be the first international event in JC hosted by Bulgaria. We will do our best to make this meeting an unforgettable one.

  • International VP Janna Nekhaitchik Matsakis visited Bulgaria � From 13th to 16th of May VP Janna Nekhaitchik Matsakis and her husband Alexander Matsakis, National President JC France 1999 came to Bulgaria. They visited the LOMs in Sofia and Lovetch. Their visit was very useful and interesting for all the members from all over Bulgaria that participated.


  • 1999 National Convention of JC Bulgaria� It will hosted by LOM Haskovo from 8th to 10th October 1999. If you are interested, please contact us and we will forward you with all detailed information.
  • JC Bulgaria on the Internet - In a very short time JC Bulgaria will be presented on the Internet by its own web-site. This project was started in Bourgas, it spread through all the other LOMs and it will very soon become a reality thanks to the efforts of the LOM Bourgas members.


    • THE CHALLENGE TO WALK NEXT

    National Business Network in Bulgaria has started activities in two main branches. The purpose of the first one being - exchange of information on bids and promoting JCBusiness within Bulgaria, the second � make the world know about us.

    Focusing on the internal market through Business Info Exchange JC Bulgaria is developing a heterogeneous system. Using Internet as the media we build a team which is the essence of the network. Members learn to provide information and to survive through doing it. The final stage, my hopes in near future, is to make LOMs act as if being branches of a multipurpose company thus creating a powerful business cover over Bulgaria. And prepare us for the world�

    Internationally ... A friend has said �just see what it looks like do not expect what it will look like��. Reality defines the purpose: to promote. To promote a business, a request, or even nick to others, and make it known as something coming from Bulgaria. Worst would be to miss the opportunity to come in open and prepare for the proper time.

    We are moving ahead and lot of energy is put within. Development for the sake of development is not the attractive way to move ahead. We are coming from far behind and soon or later the world will turn back and see we are walking next � The music cannot prevent us from being concentrated J .

    		 CHRISTMAS COCKTAIL

    Imagine - a nice winter evening, just before Christmas. Everybody radiates happiness and positive emotions, because this is the time of the year when people look back at what they have achieved and start building their plans for the coming year. Junior Chamber Bulgaria traditionally organizes a Christmas Cocktail for its members, associates and partners.

    The Cocktail that marked the end of 1998 was very special for us, because it also marked the year in which we received our full affiliation within Junior Chamber International, the year in which we achieved the greater expansion of our NOM and last but not least, the year in which we recognized our first Senator � Konstantin Konstantinov.


    This most desired honor in JCI was presented at a special ceremony during the Christmas Cocktail by our National President 1998 � Daniel Minkov, in order to prove our everlasting gratefulness to Senator Konstantin Konstantinov for his hard work, attractive ideas and permanent support. We were also extremely glad to surprise our 1999 National President � Iva Konstantinova with a chain baring the names of all her predecessors.

    I would really like to tell you in more details what else have happened during the Cocktail, but as you all know how dynamic and colorful Junior Chamber life is, I will let your imagination make up for my silence. I will just say: �It was great! It was unforgettable! It was a real JC meeting!�

    JC BULGARIA - THE BEST TEACHER OF MY LIFE

    Have you ever asked yourself how many of us, when standing in front of an enormous audience, can explain themselves absolutely correct. How many of us, when faced by this same audience, will instinctively search in the people sitting in the room only the good and will feel sure in their understanding and support. Have you ever asked yourself where you can find so many friends that you could hardly remember their names and nevertheless rely on their helpful hand whenever you need it.

    I found the answer of these questions and it is so short � JC Bulgaria. There are so many smart and talented young people, who cannot fully develop their abilities simply because they don�t have the courage to show what they are capable of. That is why nobody will ever learn what nature had given him or her. There are also others, who taking an important role in the society or in a company, fail right in the beginning of their career because of their inability to lead and unite the people, to work in a team, to come out and realize projects.

    SOMETHING VERY PERSONAL WHICH I'D LIKE TO SHARE WITH YOU

    For my three years in Junior Chamber I looked at the world with a different eyes. Many countries, that were simply a space on the world map for me, now bring in my mind unforgettable realities. When I face a project, I know where to start and how to organize its realization. The opportunity to help people to bring color into their gray everyday-lives and to convince them to believe in themselves brings me the greatest satisfaction in JC.

    That was our main idea when we organized in Lovetch, �SPRING ART SHOW�, which will stay in our minds as a colorful and joyful inter-LOM meeting. There was lots of dancing and fun among the beautiful flowers and pictures, making of new friends, participation in a lottery, theatrical play of young talented actors, photo contest and innovative games.

    I am convinced that Junior Chamber takes its deserved place in the lives of the young people from Lovetch.

    What happened at the end of the millenium?

    I�ve never imagined that I will hear the roar of airplanes, which are going to throw real bombs� WAR, for me it sounded like something very distant from my world, something which has been happening a long time ago or which is happening at a long distance from me. Suddenly, it becomes reality! Not actually in my world but only 20 kilometers away from our capital - Sofia.

    Towns, I know really well, have been destroyed; bridges I�ve crossed do not exist any more; people whose names are the same as ours, are being killed.

    I know that war has two faces, nobody is absolutely right or absolutely wrong; absolutely innocent or absolutely guilty. There is no such thing as absolute truth. But now I�m thinking �Why humanity allows the war to go on and lets people dye in civilized Europe�.

    Now the people are afraid even to express their opinion, because if they are against the war it means that they are against the democracy. I dare not like this face of democracy, even if my reasons are very personal: polluted environment, economical loses, fear for the future�
